The theme for the 2021 Afro-Book Festival

This year’s Afro-Book Festival is under the theme: “Freeing our bleeding world,” and it is expected to explore ways writers across the world can collaborate to collectively combat the COVID-19. There will be book reading and discussions by world-class authors from India, Ghana, South Africa and Nigeria.

The 4th Accra International Book Festival will feature a panel discussion on Covid-19 and its effect on human rights across the world. Seasoned human rights activists, legal practitioners and journalists will constitute the panellists for this insightful discussion.

The human rights panel discussion at the 4th Accra International Book Festival (#AccraBookFest) will explore some human rights breaches occasioned by the Covid-19, with a strong message to global leaders that this is not the time to neglect human rights.

More than ever, this is the time for duty bearers to use human rights as a guide in the exercise of their power. Human rights can navigate us through the crisis in a way that allows us to achieve equitable sustainable development and peace.
