About the Accra International Book Festival

The Accra International Book Festival is a non-profit, charity organisation established to foster a love of books, reading and writing among Ghanaians and Africans from all backgrounds. We achieve this aim through transformative and lively author discussions aimed at addressing major issues of great concern to all.

Every year the Afro-Book Festival brings together world-class writers, poets, scientists, politicians and musicians for a three-day event held in Accra, Ghana’s capital. The Accra International Book Festival is also the organiser of the Accra Children’s Book Festival, a platform to promote children’s literature in Ghana and beyond.

At the heart of the Accra International Book Festival is an integrated approach that aims to expand participation in Ghanaian and African literature and develop highly engaged audiences.
